Reservoir Simulation

Numerical simulation of multiphase flow in a reservoir on a three-dimensional computational grid.

Grid model preparation
Import a geological or reservoir simulation model, build and edit the computational grid. Define spatial distributions of porosity and permeability, simulation regions, fault transmissibility and aquifer connections.
Fluids and initial conditions
Prepare PVT data for black-oil models and compositional models based on equations of state (EOS). Describe relative permeability and capillary pressure. Initialize pressure and saturation distributions, accounting for fluid contacts. Check initial hydrocarbon volumes in place.
Wells and development strategies
Describe well trajectories, completion intervals and well interventions. Account for production and injection history by well. Define well and group operating modes, rate and pressure constraints. Build historical and forecast scenarios.
Simulation, history matching and scenario comparison
Simulate multiphase flow and history-match the model. Analyze pressure and saturation distributions and water and gas movement. Compare development scenarios by production profiles, water cut, gas–oil ratio and reservoir sweep efficiency.
